La mia ultima estate da adolescente è trascorsa tranquillamente. Da luglio, come gli anni prima, la routine quotidiana era scandita dai soliti rituali per andare al Lido di Venezia, la spiaggia dei veneziani, dove avevamo la capanna in zona A per tutta la stagione. Per noi la capanna, un camerino più grande fornito di tavolo, quattro sedie, sdraio, mobile interno per le stoviglie e tettoia per i pranzi all’aperto, diventava la nostra seconda casa… La casa prevalentemente dei Vianello, fratelli di mia mamma, nonna e nipoti. E per tre mesi diventavamo un unico e vasto nucleo familiare che alla fine si allargava anche alle famiglie delle capanne accanto. Dopo aver sistemato le cose appena arrivati, la zia Nadia (la sorella più grande di mia mamma) chiamava all’adunata tutti e proponeva la passeggiata mattutina fino al faro, la punta più estrema del Lido. Avendo l’età del divertimento, in noi giovani scattava spesso il rifiuto a tale sfacchinata e spesso preferivamo rimanere in riva al mare, sul bagnasciuga pronti per il primo bagno della giornata!!! O per aspettare di costruire la nostra pista per le biglie. Verso mezzogiorno e mezzo ci raccoglievamo intorno al tavolino e spesso eravamo talmente tanti che le sedie fornite non bastavano… E mi ricordo di quanto fossero belle e animate le nostre conversazioni e di quanto amassi vedere sorridere la nonna Maria perché aveva con sè figli e nipoti. Dopo pranzo spesso giocavamo a carte o facevamo la pennichella. E io aspettavo con ansia il momento di dirigermi in pineta per vedere gli amici e quell’agosto soprattutto una persona… I nostri teli colorati ricoprivano una vasta zona e i nostri schiamazzi attiravano gli sguardi di chi passeggiava o irritavano chi voleva riposare all’ombra degli alberi. Spesso migravamo in altri bagni per alternare le zone e essere più vicini ad altri amici e i nostri pomeriggi trascorrevano fra chiacchiere, musica, scherzi vari e anche gavettoni. Le mie attenzioni però andavano a lui… Credo proprio di aver una cotta per Luca, da tutti soprannominato Demone per i suoi occhi di ghiaccio. È stata una cotta platonica che lui ricambiava ma, sapendo che a fine estate sarebbe tornato a casa in Toscana, non abbiamo avuto il coraggio di avventurarci in una storia a distanza! Chi l’avrebbe saputo che poi mi sarei dovuta trasferire proprio a pochi chilometri da lui? La nostra routine quotidiana ci rendeva sereni e spensierati. Non sapevo ancora che di lì a poco la mia vita sarebbe radicalmente cambiata. A metà agosto una brutta febbre improvvisa mi ha impedito di andare al mare interrompendo quell’estate fantastica. Quando sono riuscita a tornare ancora debole ormai era la fine di agosto, al termine della stagione. Ormai ero proiettata all’inizio del liceo e soprattutto alla ripresa delle lezioni di danza che quest’anno sarebbero diventate più frequenti perché all’ultimo anno. Il 13 settembre ho varcato la porta del liceo Zambler e ho conosciuto i miei nuovi compagni di avventura. Se non sbaglio eravamo in 31! E a pochi giorni dall’inizio la febbre è tornata ed è stata intermittente per un mesetto. Quando stavo meglio tornavo a danza e un giorno ho sentito che qualcosa non andava…
